CART, Remote CART, and ASL in Action
Finding effective CART, remote CART, and ASL providers is only part of the process of providing this support. During the day of the event, these providers also need:
- Clear access to audio and visual information
- A means of communicating with participants who require the support
- Information about where the park, the rooms, and the activities
- Updates to any schedule changes and annoucements
- Information about specific individual with the accommodations as needed
While some of these providers may be familiar with UNH, you also may have to provide additional information about the campus, travel to the campus, or other information as needed.
Suggestions
- Ensure providers are familiar with parking, the venue, schedules, and their role for the day
- Provide providers with any materials, relevant terms, relevant person names in advance of the event

- Ensure providers have appropriate spaces (access to communications, but non-intrusive)
- Discuss any expectations with providers in advance of the event

- Always have presenters face providers
- Provide captions on videos
- Space reserved for providers
